課程概述 |
This seminar course aims to provide students with an understanding of the theories, principles, and strategies of community-based participatory research (CBPR) and related traditions in community-engaged research (CEnR). The course will cover how to develop a functional and productive co-equal partnership, theory and measurement of CBPR, defining “community” and ensuring protections, sampling and recruitment with consideration of “community”, experimental designs in CBPR, qualitative designs in CBPR, and process evaluation of partnerships. The advantages and limitations of this approach, skills necessary for effective application, and theory-driven case studies will be explored. The students will practice these approaches by undertaking a service-learning project applying CBPR. |

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the theories and principles of CBPR and CEnR.
2. Understand the historical background and current developments of CBPR.
3. Learn how to design and undertake a CBPR service-learning project.
4. Learn how to work effectively with community partners. |

課程要求 |
Students should read and review the reading material before and after the lecture. The slides of each lecture will be available on CEIBA for students to download. This course includes lectures for critical appraisal. Students need to download a paper from CEIBA for paper critique. |
